These next six images are all miniature Artist Trading Cards, which are a mere 1 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches in size. A pretty small canvas for my bumbling fingers! The style of the art is called Zettiology, named in honor of an awesome art studio who creates and sells collage sheets and rubber stamps! These six cards were my first foray into Zetti art and I am absolutely hooked! I love the fun and quirky style! If you want to check them out for yourself, go to their website at http://www.teeshamoore.com/collagesheetsforsale.htm
I am not affiliated with them in any way. I'm just a HUGE fan who adores their style! I hope to acquire some more of their collage sheets soon so I can create Zetti stuff on a larger canvas.

This mother has sensitive eyes. She looks kind and gentle and conservative. I wonder about the use of the word melancholy. Are you expressing feelings about your own mother or maybe feelings she felt? Why was number 3 used? It is a significant number to me. This makes a fine Mother's Day tribute. Love, Aunt Cheryl
Hello Aunt Cheryl! This little collage definitely has some personal stuff about my mom in it. The Melancholy word describes how I think my mom was - always a little sad when thinking about her life. I think it also describes how I often think of her, as it is difficult to separate the depression/sadness from her, as it was a large part of who she was. We had happy moments, but there were always the undercurrents of her illness that showed through.
The number 3 refers to several things. First the number of children she actually birthed. Second, it refers to the number of times I remember her trying to take her life. The last being, of course, when she finally succeeded. The number 7 (in the bottom right corner) refers to the number of us when she married my adoptive dad (Her and dad, my 4 siblings, and me).
It's strange, because when I started this collage, I was just thinking it would be fun to put different eyes on it in the Zettiology style. But when I found the words "my mother's eyes", I realised that it was about my mom. It's odd how the subconscious works its way out in artwork! Somehow what you are feeling will be revealed, I think.
Thank you for all your kind comments. They mean a lot to me! You know you are Shea and I's adopted mom and you mean the world to us!! And I think I know some of the reasons the number 3 is significant to you, but I'd love to hear what you say about that.
Wow Tammi...you are extremely creative and thought provoking. You are a true artist my love.
